St Mark's is a Catholic Co-Educational Primary School established in 1963, formed in the tradition of the Sisters of Mercy and nourished by the charism of Catherine McAuley. The school is administered by Brisbane Catholic Education and is situated on approximately twenty hectares of land. With an enrolment of 475 students, St Mark's is a place where children strive to live life clearly and boldly and is committed to providing an excellent Catholic education for boys and girls from Prep to Year Six.
The school's academic program is of the highest standard and is designed to engage both boys and girls. Class teachers focus on a core curriculum of Religious Education, English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences, Health and Physical Education, Spanish, Technologies and the Arts. Significant emphasis is given to teaching the children to read and to develop a love of reading.
St Mark's provides a unique faith environment and a variety of experiences for the growth of its members. The school seeks to develop a working partnership with parents, children/young people, parish and other agencies of church and the wider community, in which each contributes their time, treasure and talent. It is through this partnership that students can develop as capable learners and well-adjusted people of faith who come closer to knowing their God.
We seek to instil a spirit of service in the context of Catholic values with a strong commitment to the poor and marginalised. We seek opportunities to develop right relationships that respect the dignity of each person. As part of the St Mark's community, we commit our energies to forming young men and women of faith and learning, who are willing to make a difference and will endeavour to live 'clearly and boldly'.
We look forward to journeying with you through your child's education here at St Mark's.
